Lindenwood University retains the top spot in the 2018-2019 American Collegiate Hockey Association Men's Division 1 Ranking, No. 7.  The Lions skewered the University of Arkansas at home (15-0, 10-3) to improve to a perfect 14-0-0 on the season.  Lindenwood pumped 148 shots on goal over the weekend and were led on Friday by Zach Mitchell (4 goals, 2 assists) and Brendan Murphy (3 goals, 2 assists) while Jordan Klimovsky, Alex Kalau, and Jake Towsend each had a pair of goals in Saturday’s victory.

The University of Michigan-Dearborn (5-0-0) was idle but held the No. 2 spot while No. 3 Adrian College improved to 11-0-0 after traveling to New York and sweeping Syracuse University.  Goaltender Michael Barrett stopped 30 of 31 shots in Friday’s 5-1 win while the Bulldogs had to overcome a 4-3 deficit to eke out a 5-4 win on Saturday.  Joe Costello scored the equalizer late in the second period before Domenic Moore’s game-winning goal about halfway through the third period.

Ohio University (9-1-2) jumped up a pair of spots to No. 4 after surviving a visit to the LaHaye Center in Lynchburg, Va., against Liberty University.  The Bobcats stunned the Flames on Friday night with three unanswered goals in the third period to escape with a 3-2 win as Gianni Evangelisti netted the game-winner with only 2:47 left in the game.  On Saturday, the Flames engineered their own comeback win as Brock Thompson knotted the game at 2-2 in the third period to force overtime before Devin Pierce ended the game with a power-play goal with only four seconds remaining in the overtime period.

Rounding out the top 5 was idle Iowa State University (9-3-0).

Moving into the polls this week is No. 25 University of Rhode Island while the University of Utah drops out of the Top 25.

The Central States Collegiate Hockey League leads the way with all five of its member teams ranked, while the Western Collegiate Hockey League has six (of 8) of its member teams ranked, the Eastern States Collegiate Hockey League has four (of 6) of its member teams ranked, and the Great Lakes Collegiate Hockey League has four (of 8) of its member teams ranked.

The ACHA uses two computer rankings generated by USHSHO.com, Ranking A (Wins with Maximum Goal Differential of 7) and Ranking B (Wins with Maximum Goal Differential of 1), and come up with an average of the two rankings.  The ACHA will then use the list generated from the average for its weekly ranking.  Ties will be broken using the higher ranked team from Ranking B until the Top 25 teams are listed.  All games that go to overtime will be scored as ties in the computer ranking.
