It has been a long first half of the season for the Illini Hockey team. Although coming close to finding a win a couple of times this year, the Illini find themselves with a winless 0-11-0-1 record.

The Illini have a couple of weeks to prepare for their next match-up against the McKendree University Bearcats. The Bearcats (7-9-0) were on a six game winning streak at the end of the first semester until the last game in which they fell to Northern Illinois University by a score of 3-5.

The Bearcats have faced off against some of the teams that the Illini have already faced, such as Maryville and Illinois State Universities with similar results. Statistically McKendree would have the edge over the Illini, scoring an average of 3.25 goals per game compared to the Illini's .75 goals per game. Defensively, the Bearcats are allowing 3.75 goals per game, while the Illini have been allowing 5.5 goals per game.

The Illini will have to keep the pressure on two of the Bearcats top scorers, Matias Alexandrov and Brad Richardson, each with 8 goals and 5 assists so far this season.

The Illini and Bearcats will square off at the University of Illinois Ice Arena on January 13th and 14th at 7:00pm.
