The Illini were looking to add to their wins on the season this past weekend, but they knew it would be tough task against the No. 7 ranked Bobcats of Ohio University.

On Friday night the Illini found themselves down a goal early as the allowed the Bobcat's Sam Turner to find the back of the net just under three minutes into the first period. The Illini's troubles continued midway through the period as back-to-back penalties led to back-to-back power-play goals for Ohio. The period ended with the Illini down by three. The Illini seemed to have found their groove in the second period as Alex Matveev started the Illini's scoring on the power-play just under six minutes into the period. Just minutes later Francesco Addante added a second goal for the orange and Blue, making it a 3-2 game. Unfortunately the Illini were unable to find that game tying goal, and with just over a minute to go in the game, Ohio's Christian Albertson stuck the dagger into the Illini's hopes of tying the game with the Bobcat's fourth goal. The game would end with the Bobcats winning 4-2. Final Score: Ohio 4 - Illini 2.

On Saturday night the game started out appearing that it would be a little more even of an event as Ohio and the Illini traded goals within the first five minutes of the first. The Bobcats took the lead in the first period with a goal at the 13:21 mark, making 2-1 Ohio at the end of the period. Things also erupted at the end of the period as six players, 3 Illini and 3 Bobcats, were ejected from the game for extra curricular activities. The shortened bench hurt the Illini more than it did Ohio, as the the Bobcats would go onto score 4 unanswered goals in each of the second and third periods. Final Score: Ohio 10 - Illini 1.

The Illini's record now slips to 2-13-0-1, and will be on the road once again as they head to Bensenville, IL to face the Lakers of Roosevelt University (8-13-0-1).
